I've worked out that I have Intuitive Aptitude (The ability to understand something complex at a glance), and was wondering, for all Heroes fans, if that's my power, then shouldn't I be able to copy other people's abilities?
Now I'm sure you guys are all full of crap when you site examples from a fictional show to explain how your own powers may or may not work.
Don't you understand? Heroes is not real. You cannot use information from Heroes to learn about real super powers. There is no such thing as "Super Powers" except my powers are real.
Believe it or not, I can ACTUALLY differentiate the qualities of fact and fiction, and was asking about my ability in case somebody knew something about it. And who are you to complain about someone else's abilities? Anyone can chug a beer, it takes a complete spoon with a high liability of liver damage (not to mention brain damage) to think that being able to chug a beer (and have hair on your chest) is a super power. I seriously recommend reading through your PAS, the comments you've left on other people's pages, and think about how much of a complete and utter @#! it makes you look to come on here and compare your parlour tricks and side effects of viagra to our abilities.
do yall honestly believe yall have powers? anyone on here can just say "i swear i can move stuff w/ my mind" or "i can here thoughts". I mean come on, even i feal a little tingling in my hands from time to time, and sometimes i can even swear that it felt like had an invisible, elastic string tied to my fingers. i dont come on here and say "ya i can todally move stuff w/ my mind". even if i could the last thing i would do was go to some website and write up some huge forum saying that i could.
i figure its like this: 99% of people on here are lieing
.09% of people on here actually believe that they have powers
and .01% of the people might actually have powers
if people really do hav powers id rather see a video than read some Heroes fan-fiction.
Oh you totally got him, bro. Good one. Obviously you completely missed the point. He is saying you are a fake homo who doesn't have powers.
Your delusion has manifested itself out of a need to compensate for your gayness. You don't fit in anywhere in life because all you can think about is naked men. This site with fake super powers fills that empty void inside you.
The ability Sylar uses to get Elle's power is called empathic mimicry, i don't know exactly how it works and it was probably made up specifically for the show
these powers, abilities, whatever are just dormant human capabilties that i believe that were stamped out because of control issues....lets put it this way...sylar and peter are two sides of the same coin if you can understand that....
Sylar's power was intuitive aptitude, just as you said above. He didn't "copy" their abilities, he stole them. He cuts their skull open, then uses his power to find the part that gives them their powers. After that we're unsure of exactly what he does, but he gains the ability he ripped out of their brains.
Yea I'm a big Heroes guy :), season one is still my fav, but this new season is pretty cool so far.
"To conquer the future, we must master the past."~Me
He just examines their brains, and kind of "reads" their power. The other person still has their ability, as evidenced when Claire was able to regenerate after Sylar took her power.
I think that was because her blood can regenerate people too, like in season 2. Maybe when he took out the part of her brain the blood still coarsing through her regenerated her. How would anyone else keep their power if their missing the part that gives it to them?
"To conquer the future, we must master the past."~Me
As stated in Season 3... the brain sends a protein to the adrenal glands, and they then give the person powers. It's because the adrenalin was already in her blood that it could be used to heal others. However, if you remove Claire's brain or adrenal glands then she won't be able to regenerate and will probably die. Kring said that she wouldn't be able to survive decapitation for this very reason.
And for the last time, Sylar doesn't take anything from their brains. He just reads their brains and learns how to unlock their powers inside his own. It wouldn't work in real life, but that's because this is HEROES. They let Daphne exceed the speed of light, for Christ's sake! I think that alone removes any plausibility that the show might have had.
Ya Sylarz a pretty messed up dewd. I mean, he even can get the ability without killing, but yet he still does. I think he takes out the whole situation with his dad on other people.
I don't think so. Syler's ability is to absorb another "heroe's" ability. Did you watch last season? If you did, I think you maybe have something simalar to what the girl in New Orleans(I think it was...) had. She saw something, and then was able to do it. No matter if it's Syler or the girl, don't go pshyco killer like Syler did. :)
I dont think this is a power but, i have a dog and she does everything i tell her to do. Iv also tried it on other animals, e.g cas, birds, hamsters and they also do as i tell them, everythink. this only work somtimes though, but its freaky.
Now I'm sure you guys are

Rich coming from you.

Really?

okay okay i see your point
okay okay i see your point there but what if it's not an ability you can demonstrate?
So what happened to the other 0.9?
Sounds like somebody mistyped their numbers.

you described that very well
i take it you're going through the same thing.
...minus the powers
Empathic Mimicry

yes...

Thanks :)
Thanks for the advice, and I don't plan on killing people and looking at their brains, I'll just have to find another way of learning new abilities :S
If you think everything's possible, I invite you to try slamming a revolving door.

It's not the blood.

yeah, but by that point
yeah, but by that point they're pretty dead from having their head cut open
Most of them.
But not regenerating cheerleaders. And Tim Kring has actually stated that Sylar can't read dead brains, so he's got until they die from loss of blood.
Hahaha
Ya Sylarz a pretty messed up dewd. I mean, he even can get the ability without killing, but yet he still does. I think he takes out the whole situation with his dad on other people.
Well...
