Getting What You Want - You Don't Have To Have Super Powers

Even if you have super powers, your dreams could still elude you if you're not focused on going after what you want in life. You don't need super powers to reshape your world into a better, more desirable reality. In order to get what you want, here are 9 simple steps you can follow:

1. Figure Out What You Want
Get a pen and some paper, or open a word processor, and take a few minutes to think about all the things you'd like to have and experience in your life. Write them down, in order of importance to you. These are your major goals in life. Don't worry, you can always come back later and rework them, or reprioritize.

2. Figure Out The Big Steps (Milestones)
Now that you know what you want, you can begin figuring out how to get it. Think about the best ways to go about doing that, on a large scale. If you want to own a global company, first you have to own a national one. Write down each of the big steps you come up with for your major goals.

3. Figure Out The Daily Steps
For every big step you've come up with, you must break each one down further and further, making a note of each level, until you reach a point at which you are dealing with daily steps toward accomplishing your big goals.

4. Organize Your Plans
Take each of your goals and write down the full breakdown in a simple and easy to understand way. Create a guide for yourself on paper with all the milestones, sub-milestones, and daily steps that each goal will need you to accomplish. You can put a check box next to each one, so that you can keep track of your progress.

5. Build The Daily Steps Into Your Routine
Just knowing your steps to success won't be enough. You've got to put them into practice.

6. Stay Motivated
Find as many reasons as you can to continue working toward your dreams. If you can stay motivated, the daily steps will seem like less of a chore, and soon become second nature. As the days go by, your continued progress will add up, bringing you closer and closer to your milestones, and to your major goals.

7. Keep Track Of Your Progress
For every milestone you achieve, no matter how small, keep a record of it. If you organized your steps to success as suggested in Step 4, you might have put them all into a book, with each step accompanied by a check box. Once you meet a goal, you can mark it as having been accomplished.

8. Reevaluate Your Goals
Either every year, or every month, or every week if you want, take the time to look at the progress you've made and decide if you want to continue toward your original goal, or modify it based on new information. Sometimes, once you've started working toward something, other things become clear and have an impact on your final plan. In order to prevent a scenario in which you finally achieve your original goals, but realize they no longer matter, it's important to reevaluate those goals every so often.

9. Keep Up The Good Work
If your goals have changed, go back to Step 1 and write them down, and then go through the other steps to set your new plan in motion. If your goals are as solid as ever, that's great. Keep up the good work, and your dreams will happen sooner than you think!
