Hey any newcomers. This site IS for real, and yes so are superpowers. Well, I wouldn't call them that. I would call them abilities. Anyway, there are some skeptics here that will never believe in your abilities. Just remember you are the only one that needs to believe. Also, this site DOES NOT LIKE ROLEPLAYERS. If you got an account just to fake being "special", get out right now and don't mess with us. If you really do have abilities, good for you! You are one of the few people out there that has an ability. There are also just TONS of pointless arguments around this place, so feel free to be a part of them. Just wanted to clue you in on the site. Good luck!

What we at PPHM-Ultra Professional Detective Agency are trying to do is to group superhumans to train in powers.
Like X-Men if you will
But we need either a place to recruit and train or a website to talk, not this one, no offense but its just crowded with people who could work for... Enemies.

Post Types
There are a few different ways to post. This list will identify each one.
| Type of Post | Details |
|---|---|
| Blog Entry | Each registered user has their own blog, in which they can post whatever they feel like (within reason). Update us on your life, things you've noticed or heard, or how you're feeling. |
| Book Page | Real Super Powers uses Drupal Book Pages to mimic a Wiki-type environment. You can post new pages to the site to add information where it is lacking. To accomplish the same goal, you can also edit existing pages. |
| Forum Topic | Our forums area is where you can exchange information directly with other users. If you've got an issue that you'd like to actively share, and there isn't already a topic dedicated to it, you can start one. |
Please be aware that as this site is now open to user-generated content, we must all adhere to the same guidelines held by sites like Wikipedia. No information is to be copied directly unless being quoted and sourced. Please write things in your own words.
When you don't have an account, or aren't logged in, you'll be able to see pages and information on RealSuperPowers.com, but you won't be able to add to them.
When you are logged in, most pages will present you with a few extra features, allowing you to add and update site pages. For example, you should hopefully see this:

and this:

The Edit link allows you to update the content on the page you're currently viewing. The Add Child Page link allows you to create an entirely new page, under the page you are viewing.
When you are editing a page, or creating a new page, you have the option of deciding which parent page to file it under:

In the previous picture, "Getting Started" is one level under "Super Powers -- The Real Ones." Beneath "Getting Started" is "Posting Guidelines."
So "Super Powers -- The Real Ones" is the parent page to "Getting Started."
"Getting Started" is the child page to "Super Powers -- The Real Ones."
And "Posting Guidelines" is child to "Getting Started."
"Introduction" is the 2nd child page to "Super Powers -- The Real Ones," after "Getting Started."
From time to time while logged in, you may see this:

If you click on one of these links, you'll be taken to a page where you can add a brand new page to the site.
If you were writing a new page on a previously unmentioned super power, say Time Travel, you might decide to file that under the parent page of "More Powers." That way, anybody visiting the "More Powers" page will see in Navigation that "Time Travel" is a subpage. It is always best to pick a relevant parent page.
People on this website have a habit of doing stupid things that leave them wide open for exploitation. To avoid further instances of this, we ask that when using this site you please remember the basic rules of internet safety.
1) Do not give out personal information to people you don't know. This includes your name, address, phone number, credit card details, etc. as well as the information of other people. Be especially cautious if somebody asks to meet in person, and apply the same rules you would when dealing with strangers.
2) Don't believe everything you read. Websites like this one tend to attract a lot of people who are crazy, lying or have overactive imaginations. Some come here purely to mislead and torment other users. While we're not advocating rudeness, we do suggest you take everything here with a grain of salt and never let yourself get sucked into other people's affairs.
3) Beware of sexual predators. We do have a few of them on here, and not all of them are obvious. They can be very manipulative so again, we advise safety and caution.
4) Flame wars are not encouraged, as they can turn violent. If somebody is harassing you on this website, ignore them. If what they are doing constitutes a criminal offence, we encourage you to inform the proper authorities.
5) There is a button at the bottom of every blog called "Flag as Offensive". People do regularly flag each other's blogs either to prevent spam or to spite the person who posted them. It's recommended that you back up any content you don't want deleted by flagging.
Above all, use your brain. If something sounds too good or bad to be true, it probably is. If your gut tells you something is dangerous, it's probably right. Be smart, be safe, be sensible.
.
1 Now about the gifts of the Spirit, brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be uninformed. 2 You know that when you were pagans, somehow or other you were influenced and led astray to mute idols. 3 Therefore I want you to know that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, "Jesus be cursed," and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit.
4 There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. 5 There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. 6 There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.
7 Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. 8 To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, 10 to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues,[a] and to still another the interpretation of tongues.[b] 11 All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.
(I posted this essay on RSP a while back, but it recently got deleted in a mass blog purge over the last few weeks. I've already reposted it as a blog post, someone asked me to put it here. Unfortunately some of the sources have been lost in that same purge. The point, however, still stands, but I do apologize for the inconvenience.)
There is this ever-present attitude that pops up in communities where abilities are discussed, this idea that somehow to be questioned is to be insulted at the basest possible level. Rather than find his or her respectful and focused critique answered, one who dares to bring up issues with another person's claims is many times met with hostility by that individual or, in some cases, the whole community. The apparent operating assumption for many is that all skepticism is intentionally malicious, or at the very least, made in ignorance; that it is a direct personal attack on the sincerity of another person's claim or is being made by someone who just doesn't understand why they aren't supposedly meant to ask questions. While one who comes on for help certainly might not be looking to prove themselves, or even reasonably expected capable of doing so on demand depending on their claimed ability, by attacking every kind of critical analysis which comes their way they are doing themselves and their community a disservice. The critiques, however strong they might be, may very well be coming from other people in search of assistance or just answers. By addressing the points others bring up, one can not only strengthen their own position but, if legitimate flaws are pointed out, admit to their errors and progress further in looking for real answers to their questions.
A lot of the criticism from people both inside and out of such a community seems to come in the form of straight challenges to the actual existence of certain people's abilities. These critiques can range from the respectful and rationally structured: "I'm afraid that i am in doubt of all these powers. I am the sort of girl that needs to see it up close in front of my eyes to believe it," (1) to the rude and belligerent: "You think you all are special? Think again. Because my friend and i are the only two with actuall [sic] abilities!" (2) While the former is certainly the more preferred form of discourse, the latter does tend to show up on occasion. The best course of action for dealing with either is to organize one's thoughts into a calm and well measured response. If the person in question brings up valid points, acknowledge them and try to answer them as best you can, admitting when you can't. It is no sign of weakness to give the person you are talking with credit for a good response. If the person in question isn't even trying to be civil in their critique, kindly point that out to them and still try to provide them with an answer. A respectful comment deserves mutually respectful response, and a disrespectful tirade deserves to be outclassed in every way possible.
What is not helpful is when one answers such critical questions or comments with belligerent comments of their own. Saying "if you dont believe in powers go get of this site im seriusly [sic] shut up and get of this site we dont need to prove anything to u ok," (3) might feel like an appropriate way to vent against an intentionally mean-spirited post, but it essentially just makes one's own level of commentary look foolish where a more tactful reply might have easily avoided such a perception. A response like "It's nice that you have an opinion and I respect that but intentionally throwing out offensive comments demonstrates a huge lack of maturity," (4) not only respectfully points out problems with the manner in which a person's criticism was raised, but allows the poster to show they are open to and capable of having a more thoughtful discussion. Just remember to then make an attempt to answer the questions the original poster brought up, lest you be perceived as merely brushing off all criticism. A disrespectful or evasive response should avoided if only because it may very well discourage those who had planned on brining up concerns in a more civil manner from making posts of any kind.
While it's somewhat understandable why one would be averse to having the very existence of their abilities challenged, a rather perplexing attitude that seems to sprout up in these communities; one that discourages questioning in general. It is not just questions regarding the truthfulness of a person's abilities that get treated negatively, but questions about a person's methodology in studying their abilities, questions about the origin of their abilities, or even questions about how one trying to develop abilities might be able to learn from someone with similar abilities. The questions themselves are either dismissed as having supposedly obvious answers: "What kind of question is that? Some people are born with abilties unlike the roleplayers here on the site." (5) as being a sign of weakness, meanness or naivety (6) or as the person not having tried hard enough to figure things out on their own with what advice has already been given to them: "dont whine get on with it, life's tough and so is this, people give you advice, work it out for yourself it just prove's how self-confident you are with ur abillty's" (7). The philosophy behind this last kind of answer seems particularly troublesome. While there may be things one understandably cannot just be told word for word how to accomplish and expect to immediately be able to do so, the idea that their questioning should at some point be discouraged as they try to figure things out is counterintuitive to the entire idea of learning. Adherence to this idea, which can unfortunately be accepted and possibly even promoted by the members of a community, can mark the difference between someone who will merely throw information at you and someone who is truly interested in teaching you whatever they can.
Critical analysis requires people to constantly challenge their own ideas about how things work, which can be a good thing. When people and the communities they are members of are encouraged to examine in detail their previously held convictions, they get a better understanding of where they are and what they need to work on. In the case of a site such as this, not only can it weed out those who are role-playing or are merely misunderstanding coincidence as signs of having abilities but, by making sure every other rational explanation has been fully explored, it can increase the self-confidence of someone who has come forward for help. By encouraging other people to respectfully ask questions and actively trying to push for equally respectful answers, people can build a more solid community; a community that truly helps those trying to learn.

6. I apologize that I am unfortunately unable to find an example of this on these forums for inclusion in this essay. There has been a specific instance in the chat room where I and another member were personally treated in such a manner for trying to ask questions about someone's abilities, but no transcript is available to post here so far as I know. If anyone does come across a recorded example of this (either here, or on another community such as this) please let me know and I would be happy to include it.

Part of what is so intriguing about super powers has to do with the consequences of suddenly coming to possess them. Whatever the power might be, it most definitely has the potential to unleash a whirlwind of change that could completely alter your life, and perhaps the world as well.
Just imagine if you awoke one morning to find that you suddenly could do something you could never do before -- something you never even dreamed of being able to do -- something no one else on earth can do.
Let's say, for example, that you just somehow attained super speed. That's like winning the lottery. You could do anything! If you had some responsibility that you weren't really looking forward to, you could accomplish it in the blink of an eye. Bam! Done. You'd have so much more free time! Not only that, but wouldn't you feel safer knowing that if you had to, you could just zip right out of a bad scene? No one could touch you. And along with super speed comes -- a super metabolism! No calorie counting -- ever. No trouble losing weight. It would be keeping it on that would be difficult.
But enough of this pleasant dream. Many of us have thought about it. It's also true we didn't touch upon the potential downsides. But how realistic is this scenario, really?
Given our current knowledge, the answer is, "Not very." However, there are other super abilities that are not so difficult to imagine being real. Telekinesis, telepathy, rapid learning... These are only a few of the many advanced human capabilities that have yet to achieve standardized use. But just because something doesn't come standard, doesn't mean it isn't available...
Learn A Few Super Power Basics
What kind of cards are these?
being able to move things with your mind, whether it be one specific thing or all things. i.e. telekinesis, pyrokinesis, aerokinesis, geokinesis, etc, etc
Aerokinesis is the ability to manipulate the wind with your mind. Some ways this is done are deep breathing and concentration, as well as another method of focusing your emotions. When you get hyped up or excited it usually causes the wind to speed up. Some people say it works best when they try to do the opposite, but that would be incorrect, because if you try the other way to make it do what you want you are still trying to do the way you want. When there are no clouds then your power is not as strong because it takes more energy to start it, and with clouds the clouds start to go the way for a while because of enertia. It keep the clouds going and the wind goes with the clouds.
WHAT IS IT- Aerokinesis is the power to controll/minipulate the wind.
HOW IS IT USEFUL- Aeokineinesis is useful in so may ways. One way is that if it is warm ouside and you want to cool off you can make the wind pick up and you can cool down. Another way is if you get into a fight and someone throws somthing at you if you have enough power you can fling it back and protects yourself my making the wind pick up and blow it away from you.
WAYS TO ENHANCE IT- When you are first starting out you can turn a warm cup of water into a cold cup of water obver and over again. Another way is by putting a piece of paper in a room with no air cuculation and make it move by pushing it with the wind or (if you are skilled enough) throw a wind ball at it. Lastly you could dip a persons hand or a objest in water and make the water cool down or even freeze.
WAYS TO GET IT- It is rumered that if you meditate you can get many power like this one.
Telekinesis is the ability to influence things using your mind and nothing else. You can use telekinesis to move objects, but you can also use it to manipulate time, space, and energy. Telekinesis can also be used to distort material items, and has been cited as the power used to manipulate random number generators.
The term telekinesis originated in 1890 with Alexander N. Aksakof, a Russian researcher who specialized in psychic phenomena. Telekinesis is also referred to as psychokinesis, which originated in 1914 with the book, On The Cosmic Relations, by Henry Holt, an American author. J. B. Rhine, the American parapsychologist, was a friend of Holt's, and began using the term in 1934.
Telekinesis was first used as a means to explain the movement of objects by ghosts, spirits, and the like. Later, when it was theorized that living human beings might actually be exerting the influence instead of deceased individuals, the term psychokinesis came into use. Psychokinesis differs from the original telekinesis in that telekinesis usually stipulated a spiritual setting or event, like the channeling of the dead, whereas psychokinesis could occur anywhere.
Other terms include:
|
Professional parapsychologists prefer psychokinesis as a term, and some would like remove telekinesis from modern usage. However, popular culture has made telekinesis the more popular term to denote instances of mind over matter. Some cite its similarity to words like telepathy and teleportation.
Recently, telekinesis has again been established as one specific area of psychokinesis, and is used to cover only instances of moving stationary objects, as opposed to influencing time or causing spacial distortions. This was included as part of the Teleportation Physics Study done by the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory in 2004.
For the most part, some would consider both telekinesis and psychokinesis interchangeable, but this recent development would mean that psychokinesis can be used as the more all-encompassing term, whereas telekinesis relates only to its pop culture usage (i.e., moving objects through no physical means).
Various people have claimed to possess telekinetic abilities, among them Nina Kulagina. Although there are videos showing her make use of her abilities, many remain skeptical.
Because of bad fantasy movies and dorky role-playing games, sorcery has earned itself a bad reputation. I've been considering a number of theories about sorcery and telekinesis, which may shed some light on these powers and give people a reason to take them seriously. Keep in mind, these or just theories, and i am not a true scientist, though i go about my investigation in a scientifc way.
The universe is made up of three things, MATTER, INFORMATION, and ENERGY. MATTER is what people are most familar with. It's every thing we can see and touch; a person, a planet or a star are made up of MATTER. ENERGY is a bit more abstract. All MATTER has energy depending on what it's doing, even when it's standing still. Last is INFORMATION, which is the most difficult concept to grasp, because we can't see it or feel it. Think of INFORMATION as instructions to how the universe works. Without information, the orginized universe of particles would fall apart, for all matter has information.
At the begining of time, regardless of who/ what created it, the universe began as pure energy. From this eneourmous amount of energy, two things were created, matter and antimatter. it is a scientific fact, that with enough energy matter can be synthesised.
I beleive that since energy can create matter, and matter automatically creates infromation, information in turn creates energy. I cannot prove this (unless i can get my hands on a particle accelerator:)) but it makes sense in theory.
The human brain can create information (otherwise known as thinking). and if my theory is correct in that information can influence energy, a person can alter and intesify the energy in an object. Someone could concentrate on the energy in the wind and make it chagne direction. the possibilities are endless.

This page is full of exercises to make your power more powerful. If you know a exercise list what it is, how to do it, and what power it enhances.
Exercise 1: Stimulating the chakras and releasing your aura. ( enhances all powers. )
What we are going to do here is stimulate the charkas in the hands by briskly rubbing your two hands together warming them up. As soon as they feel nice and toasty (this will take about thirty seconds or so), Hold your hands palm to palm, lining up the fingers. Now Slowly begin to pull your hands away from each other until you feel a push or a pull sensation (some people feel one, while other people feel the other) that seems to suggest you've come to the outer edge of a chunky field within your energy field. Usually this occurs when your hands are about four to eight inches apart.
If you don't get any sensation with this technique the first time keep trying this exercise until the sensation occurs. I can promise you it will. Some people don't feel the edge until they actually play with the field itself, moving their hands closer together and then farther away as if playing with a marshmallow. Try this yourself once you get the push/pull sensation going between your hands, you'll get the idea of what the energy field feels like and how to sense it more easily. The energy field you sensed between you hands is actually your own aura; this radiant energy field surrounds you. You have just learned the ability of sensing energy one part of your aura's boundary."

Due to the highly interesting applications of super powers, most legitimate abilities have been prominently featured in works of fiction. In fact, many more abilities that seem far less likely attainable have also made a name for themselves in fiction.
Super powers can be seen on television, in the movies, in comic books, and in novels. Seeing as how art parallels life and vice versa, there is a great deal of potential for learning here. Fiction has become fact in the past, and it will continue to do so in the future.

Kyle XY is a television show about a teenager named Kyle who wakes up in the woods with no memories, and proceeds to learn how to fit in with society in record timing. He learns extremely quickly, and in about a week is a fully functioning person. Given that his original mental state was effectively that of a newborn, his progress is quite impressive.
As the series unravels, it is revealed that Kyle is really a clone. Adam Baylin, the man from which Kyle had been cloned, was a genius. This was accomplished through science. When his mother was pregnant with him, she had been treated to extend her pregnancy. The extra time in the womb gave Baylin's brain time to develop beyond average human capability, into the realm of Einstein. In fact, Einstein was referenced as having an abnormally long "incubation" period in his mother's womb, and the heaviest brain on record. Baylin's extended "incubation" provided him with outstanding mental abilities. However, his mother died while giving birth to him.
To repeat this process without risk of killing another woman, an organization cloned Baylin, producing Kyle. Instead of having Kyle placed in a surrogate mother, they kept him in an artificial womb. No physical mother meant no time limit, so Kyle was incubated for about 16 years. This gave his brain so much time to develop that he is ultimately capable of using nearly 100% of his full mental faculties. This idea depends on the notion that most people are limited to using around 3% of their brains. That notion is considered fact by some, and a modern myth by others.
Kyle's powerful mind is what allowed him to learn how to live in days instead of years. He is a true genius, capable of perfectly learning pretty much any piece of information almost instantly, and storing it pretty much forever. Kyle learns that Baylin's original experiences with having a powerful mind caused him to neglect his body, and that neglect contributed to a less-than-desirable physical state. Kyle underwent physical training to strengthen his body and improve his mind-body relationship. Once that training was complete, Kyle became capable of performing amazing feats like jumping off of buildings and landing without injury.
Wikipedia says, "The human body is anywhere from 55% to 78% water depending on body size." Baylin taught Kyle that the water content of the human body can be harnessed through the mind. It can be polarized, and affect water outside the body. Kyle learns to move a glass of water across a table by polarizing the water in his body and interacting with the water in the glass. Kyle later learns to levitate above water, and bounce a polarization signal off a puddle in order to move another person.
Kyle can also heal quickly, and seems resistant to damage from things like fire.
Another character on the show is named Jessi. She may or may not be a clone, but has also underwent extended incubation, and so possesses similar abilities to Kyle. Both Kyle and Jessi have incredible strength. Jessi has demonstrated that she can walk on water, another use of water polarization. Kyle and Jessi can also read each other's minds, share memories, and at times "steal" information from one another. At one point, they both placed their hands over the wounded Baylin, and healed him while somehow emanating a bright light.
How "Kyle XY" Ties In With Reality
The basic premise behind Kyle, Jessi, and Adam's super powers are that they all come from the mind. Someone with a more powerful mind will not only be more intelligent, but according to the show they should be able to manifest the rarest legitimate superhuman exploits at will, as well as a few that don't appear on recent record. One interesting thing to note is that "Kyle XY" explains the acts of walking on water and interpersonal healing, which are considered by some to be two of the miracles performed by Jesus.

Being impervious to gravity is pretty cool, but what's cooler than a super power that you can really use, like a psychic ability or super smarts?
If you could fully absorb the knowledge contained in a volume of the encyclopedia in less than a minute, what would you do?
If you could read anyone's mind, would you?
What if you could see the future? How about the past?
If you could move things with your mind...how would your life be different?

Clairvoyance entails knowing about a person, place, thing, or event without using the ordinary five senses to gather that information. If you had the ability to do this, you could be called a clairvoyant. Clairvoyance is typically used to describe knowledge of the present, rather than that of the past or future.
Some explanations for purported instances of clairvoyance have been written off as simply being caused by memories of subtle legitimate sensory stimuli. For example, you are in a crowded room, and everyone around you is talking. A stranger comes up, and you correctly guess his name is, "Henry RandomName III." You could be said to be utilizing clairvoyance to gather that information, but you may have also overheard him introduce himself earlier. While that information might not have manifested itself consciously, (i.e., you didn't actually remember hearing his name being said,) it may have been absorbed subconsciously, and was later called upon and intuitively known by you.
There are also many instances in which no other explanation exists as to how certain pieces of information were gathered, and so clairvoyance is assumed.
Despite the potential for being connected, clairvoyance and telepathy can be easily distinguished, at least in definition. Clairvoyance differs from telepathy in that a telepath would gain information from the mind of another individual, whereas a clairvoyant gathers information from some other source, without the aid of mind-reading.
Some people believe clairvoyance, telepathy, retrocognition, precognition, speaking with the dead (mediumship), and all other abilities to gather information in a non-sensory way are all variations on a theme. That is, they all arise from a single, deeper process.
Clairvoyance has many branches of use and technique, one specific of which is remote viewing, the process used by the Stargate Program from the 1970's to the 1990's.
One common claim of an instance of clairvoyance, which has been made by many people for many years, is the event of seeing or imagining a loved one just after their death, but before learning about their having passed on.
Before his death, Abraham Lincoln is said to have dreamt he was at someone's funeral. As the dream progressed, he came to learn that the funeral was his own.
A rare, and yet far more powerful and demonstrative case of clairvoyance has occurred in more than one person. The person is usually not (apparently) above average intelligence. However, upon going to "sleep," and entering a sort of trance-like state, they are able to speak as if fully educated, and even diagnose diseases in others, while presenting cures that have been shown to be highly effective. Victor Race was able to achieve this sort of sleeping clairvoyance in the 1780's, and a more well-known individual by the name of Edgar Cayce made a career out of it in the 20th century.
Finding Your Minds Eye
-Sitting comfortably, close you eyes
-Remember where you were yesterday
-What does it look like?
-Realise that you have created a picture in your minds eye to recall this time
-Notice where this image is projected within your body
-This is your inner screen or minds eye
Exploring Your Clairvoyance Free
-Sit comfortably with your eyes closed
-Notice the inner screen of your mind
-Bring your attention to the space between your eyes at the center of your forehead (your third eye)
-Visualise your third eye expanding
-Do you see anything shapes, colors, anything at all?
Do not judge yourself or expect to much of yourself
Just be aware of images of any sort that come to mind
If nothing comes don't be discouraged
Developing this skill may take some time
Know that by bringing your attention to your third eye the skill of clairvoyance has already began to awaken
Like all skills the development or rather the remembrance of it will involve persistence

Precognition can be described as knowledge of events before they transpire.

There have been many fictional instances of precognition in which a character has the burden of --
psychically knowing the future while helpless to change it;
psychically knowing the future and being able to change it, while each slight alteration creates a new obstacle;
knowing the future due to travel from the future.
Knowing the future doesn't necessarily have to be a burden, but is often described as such. These stories are intriguing, but what is more intriguing is that precognition has also been reported as fact.

There are a variety of ways in which people could possibly gather future knowledge. One important way is through dreams. Dreams foreshadowing future events, and later, the occurrences of the events themselves, have prompted many to wonder at the powers of the mind. Abraham Lincoln was reported to have experienced a dream shortly before his assassination in which he was attending a funeral. Later in the dream, he discovered that the funeral was his own.
Old writings, particularly those of Nostradamus, have been shown to contain details regarding events far off in the future. Many believe the Bible truly foreshadows the destiny of mankind.
Many athletes have used the technique of visualization to enhance their performances. Studies have shown that those who visualize performing a technique or maneuver or experiencing a certain situation before actually doing so typically outperform those who did not use visualization. Some athletes have reported times when, during a game, everything seemed to occur exactly as they had imagined it.
A more down to earth example has to do with receiving a call on the telephone. Most people can recall a time when for whatever reason, they knew exactly who was calling, without any outside information whatsoever.
All of this relates to the utilization of deeper levels of the mind. When we are awake, our brains output electricity in the form of Beta waves. These can appear on readouts to be sharp and arrhythmic. However, when we daydream, we usually sink into a slightly lower level known as Alpha. These waves appear rhythmic and smooth. At lower-energy levels, the brain is thought to actually be more powerful. People who have repeatedly practiced going to Alpha or beyond have reported distinct occurrences of precognition. If this is true, then precognition can both be learned and taught.

One step that might inch you closer to being precognition-capable is daily meditation.
For the logic-inclined, practicing logical thinking, and simply learning, can greatly improve your prediction rates regarding the future. When you are in a situation that has to do with something you are an expert on, it can almost seem too easy to predict the likely outcome. George Santayana said, "Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it." The more you know, the greater your chances of knowing what will be.

Learn how to enhance your precognition here: www.realsuperpowers.com/being-precog-ideal-powers-have-precognition-and-how-make-your-visions-most-succsessful
It's Justinbronze. I have precognition and advanced intelligence. Soon ( with me exercising my powers often ) I will have telekinesis/psychokinesis and telepathy. These are good powers to have together. Although precognition and advanced intelligence/learning aren't perfect together because it's hard to tell which thing in your mind is intuition and which is a vision of the future. But, either way, you find out the future. Now lets talk about getting your mind related powers to full power. First, here is a good exercise from Furious's chakras exercise blog post. Focusing you chakras and letting out your aura will help your visions become more powerful. Furious's post:
" What we are going to do here is stimulate the charkas in the hands by briskly rubbing your two hands together warming them up.
Now after you have done this your visions will be stronger and more accurate. But, to make your vision as powerful as an be, you can exercise your power using the Zener Card Game in the Test Yourself Precognition Page under A Few Powers - Some Of The More Well-Known Ones. Another thing to help your visions be at their fullest is to find which element strengthens your power. It could be fire, water, air, or nature, music, silence, stuff like that.. Storms could be used for water air and nature. For me im strongest when nature is strongest. When it's raining. it might be different for you. If your element is fire, be careful. Especially if your under 11 or 12. After you have done all this, your powers will be at their fullest and your visions will be stronger and more accurate. Hope it helps!
Your favorite precog, Justinbronze.
Rapid learning already exists in society, but only rarely does it occur to such an extent that it might be considered a super power. Gifted children learn more quickly, more broadly, and more deeply than non-gifted children. However, there are variances among gifted children as well, although standardized tests have difficulty separating a super genius from a "plain" genius.
Many people have sought and continue to seek ways to increase and surpass the current levels of intelligence present in society. One proposed method is a brain-machine interface, which would allow a human to access data stored electronically, rather than biologically. We are currently in the early steps toward achieving this goal, though much progress remains to be made.
Another proposed method of enhancing individual intelligence deals with our genes. If you're born a genius, then you're set. If you're born of average intelligence, then you still have a ways to go. So why not start off a genius? In order to achieve this on more than just a random basis, genetic manipulation has been proposed. If we could tweak the genes of our children, we could theoretically make them smarter. However, many ethical issues arise when dealing with genetic manipulation, and invariably one must question whether humanity was "meant" to pursue that field of inquiry. Perhaps to do so would be dangerously close to playing God.
A less scientifically-demanding, and yet still effective method of increasing the collective intelligence of future generations is the use of eugenics, or selective breeding. This too has many ethical considerations that must be weighed, as it involves controlling reproduction and dictating who is fit to have children. Under the strictest guidelines, humans would be bred like racehorses, with the best and brightest mated to each other, and the average folks not permitted to have children. However, there is a great shortcoming to this method, in addition to removing fundamental human freedoms. When you pick and choose the traits you "need" and discard those you don't, you might leave yourself unprepared to handle a sudden plague or other threat, which could have been otherwise counteracted by a certain trait that went overlooked. The eugenics method is far more complex than it would seem at first glance.
One theory of intelligence sees the brain as a sort of grouping of components, which separately perform independent functions, and together create a conscious, thinking individual. If you were able to connect your brain to someone else's, your thinking power would more than double. Each of you could draw on the unused brain power of the other to solve problems that individually you could not. You could also share memories and ideas, and think more quickly than usual. Imagine if you added a third person to your group. With all three minds connected, your collective intelligence would be phenomenal! What if you could make a group with more than three people? How about three hundred? How about three billion?
Believe it or not, some people believe humanity is collectively evolving into a higher state of being, in which we are all interconnected mentally. If that were the case, and intelligence truly is additive, the collective intelligence of the entire planet would be unimaginable. It is theorized that if we ever do reach this state, which is called a noosphere, our individual personalities would not be lost, but rather heightened. At the same time, we could each draw on all information known to everyone on earth, meaning we'd all know everything!
Another idea concerning making people smarter deals with artificial intelligence. If a computer were to become self-aware, it could theoretically reprogram itself to continually upgrade its own intelligence, until it reached a point where it would be so smart it could be called ultraintelligent. At this point it could invent technologies that we at present can only dream of. This point in time is called the "technological singularity." After this moment, humans will apparently not be able to adequately contribute to the development of new technologies, as the new intelligence will far surpass our ideas and speed of thought. Many people believe a technological singularity is fast approaching, and so are taking steps toward preparation. If this ultraintelligence were benevolent, perhaps it could develop human-machine interfaces and allow us to share its intellectual capacities. Then we, too, would become ultraintelligent. Hopefully it wouldn't enslave all of mankind…
It's also possible that a computer could never outthink a human, simply due to some overlooked biological quality we possess. If that were the case, perhaps a conscious computer could exist, but we'd always be one step ahead. Or maybe ultraintelligent computers are on the horizon, but a separate form of ultraintelligence will be discovered in humanity, which will allow us equal or greater footing and control.
Regeneration, in the biology context, is the ability to regrow damaged tissue. Known as a heal factor in the science-fiction genre, it is arguably the most useful ability to have and could be the key to immortality.
Most animals regenerate, with the exception of mammals. Mammals, when injured, will get scarring. They also grow old. Both of these traits originate from Gene P21, which mammals evolved during the time of the dinosaurs as a population control and to reduce competition for food. Gene P21 inhibits our natural regenerative powers and suppressing it in laboratory mice has been proven to restore the ability.
Regenerating has some interesting effects on the individual. Because DNA is damaged slightly every time the cell divides, fast healers should be more prone to cancer, as their cells divide more often. Fortunately, our immune systems are programmed to kill damaged cells, creating a shorter cell life cycle for the person who regenerates. Of course, this means we have to regenerate those damaged cells. Whether or not this escalates is unknown, although it doesn't seem to have much effect on non-mammals. Seriously, tortoises can live for 200 years without getting cancer.
Healing fast, as the perceptive amongst you will have figured, creates a faster metabolism and thus requires more food. If you plan on getting healing powers, you'd better be prepared for a massive grocery bill. That's one thing they never show us on Heroes - Claire Bennet should be having to eat constantly.
I said regeneration was the key to immortality. That's because your cells are constantly replacing themselves, so your body never wears out. Why do you think tortoises live to 200? Reptiles keep living until something else kills them, while mammals are weakened by the P21 gene and eventually their hearts give out.
As of yet, there are no reported cases of humans regenerating. The consequences immortality would have upon society are massive, as you can probably imagine.
Retrocognition, or postcognition, is the ability to look into the past. Information is transferred from an event or object in the past to a person in the present with retrocognitive abilities. Current science is unable to determine the precise means of informational transference.
The term "retrocognition" was invented by Frederic William Henry Myers, who lived from 1843 to 1901, and was the lead founder of the Society for Psychical Research.
Retrocognition can also come in many different forms, one being able to see moments though people's eyes in the past or before they died. It can also come in the form off seeing how something unexplained actually happened, like seeing the moments on one of the planes before it hit the twin towers in 9/11. Retrocognition is the opposite of Precognition (which is to see the future), however, in cases of a person having retrocognition, sometimes you can have both Retrocognition and Precognition. Yet this is very rare.
Super Speed Defined
Super Speed Fiction
Super Speed Non-Fiction
Steps You Can Take
Super speed can be described as the ability to physically move and execute various actions far more quickly than the average person.
Top
Various theories are tied to the effects of super speed. In one school of thought, those individuals physiologically unequipped to deal with the rigors and forces inflicted upon their body while utilizing super speed will incur ligament and/or tendon micro tears and similar injuries that also appear in the bodies of veteran professional athletes, especially football players.
Another theory posits that when an ordinary human gains super speed, his or her mind is unequipped to process sensory input at an effective rate when moving at or beyond a certain speed. Inevitably, mistakes are made, including but not limited to tripping and running into things at a dangerous and potentially fatal rate.
A third possibility in the world of super speed, and the most "positive" of those presented thus far, explains super speed relative to time distortion. Instead of the individual moving faster but thinking and reacting at a usual rate, the individual senses the ambient world moving more slowly. Thus, there is no risk of encountering a situation and not being mentally capable to handle it when experiencing this type of super speed. Such moments of mental time distortion have been reported by various normal humans in exceptional and often emergency circumstances, especially when machines have been involved. Certain drivers have reported that just before a crash, time seemed to slow down for them, although they could not move quickly enough to alter their course sufficiently. An individual possessing this level of super speed would be able to both mentally slow time down and physically adapt so as to "catch up" to the newly heightened temporal perception.
Another version of the time distortion school of thought entails the individual not slowing time down in his or her mind, but actually bending time around him or herself, effectively slowing time down in reality, while maintaining his or her current rate. In an extreme version of this, the individual actually stops time, and therefore begins moving at an infinite rate, although to him or her, it doesn't seem that fast at all. As in the previous example, there is usually no risk of movement overtaking mind, and an added benefit provided by the "actual" time distortion is the absence of the accumulation of micro tears along tendons and ligaments, as well as similar injuries.
An individual already possessing extraordinary physical resilience or regeneration, or mental acuity and speed far sharper than usual would likely not encounter the full range of low-level super speed issues. An individual operating on a higher time distortion level would also have less of this to worry about.

The fastest reported ground speed by a human being on foot, allegedly without the aid of performance-enhancing drugs or technology, is upwards of 37 kilometers per hour.
While the use of drugs has been a topic of great intensity, substances such as steroids would be a highly ineffective means at attaining super speed. This is mainly because the gains they offer in performance can be considered to be by a certain standard small. They may produce results on the "regular" level, because in the world of competitive sports, every little bit helps. Shaving a few fractions of a second off your time in an event by using steroids can mean earning the gold instead of the silver (illegally), but such an increase in speed is of little importance when confronted with super speed. In the world of superpowers, steroids essentially offer an advantage of zero.
One possible way to legitimately achieve super speed would be to use technology integrated with human physiology to consistently and powerfully stimulate the adrenal glands. Additionally, muscular efficiency could be improved with technology capable of making modifications at a molecular level. However, there would likely be upper limitations connected with the way in which the human body is engineered. Granted, the gains in speed theoretically could be immense, but it is unlikely that this kind of improvement could approach the greater limits of fictional super speed, which occur at and beyond the speed of light.

The healthier you are, the faster you can move without hurting yourself. Get adequate rest, stay hydrated, eat a majority of wholesome foods, and exercise regularly. If your goal is to run faster, run more. Be careful not to overstress yourself. Start slowly and work your way up. If something doesn't feel right, don't force it. Exercise on a bike, even a stationary one, can help with sprinting, and using an elliptical rather than pounding the pavement will reduce the strain on your joints. Remember to stretch, and keep in mind that muscles grow when you rest, not when you exercise.
If you want to be faster at something in particular, you might want to try overlearning. This is a concept under which one continues to reinforce material even after it is learned well, so as to ultimately reach a point where he or she can recall it or put it to use with a minimum of focus. Essentially, it all comes down to the old saying, "Practice makes perfect."

Telepathy is the ability to transfer thoughts or feelings from the mind of one individual to that of another (or between groups of people), without using the ordinary five senses. If you were telepathic, you would be able to read someone else's mind. Telepathy serves as a means of communication when information is prevented from other methods of travel due to physical obstacles, distance, or time.
Telepathy was formerly termed, "thought-transference," until Frederick W. H. Myers renamed it in 1882. Genuine telepathy differs from acts of mentalism in that no trick or illusion is necessary to produce results. However, skeptics are still doubtful of the existence of genuine telepathic abilities, especially given that no experiment has produced continually verifiable results time after time.
Various testing methods have been implemented to check for telepathic abilities in individuals. Among them are the Zener card test and the Ganzfeld experiment. Zener cards have special symbols on them, and while one subject looks at a card, the other tries to telepathically receive the symbol, which is unknown to them. The Ganzfeld experiment requires someone receiving information to maintain total sensory deprivation, while the other transmits from a separate location.
Two specific classes of telepathy focus on the amount of time between the information's point of origin and its receipt by a telepath. Latent telepathy, formerly "deferred telepathy," entails a delay between the points at which information is sent and received. Precognitive telepathy, on the other hand, covers cases in which the telepath receives information from the sender's future mind. Essentially, a precognitive telepath would know what you were going to think before you thought it.
One form of telepathy that is actively being "created" is cyber-telepathy, which has come to be called "techlepathy." Techlepathy is telepathy brought about through technological means, in which humans can connect to computers and to each other. Some people truly believe that humanity will someday be connected in just such a way.
I know for sure I can feel other people
Transvection is the supernatural act of levitating, floating or more specifically flying through the air. While levitation and magical flight can equate to acts of stage magic or astral projection through the use of psychoactive entheogens, transvection usually refers to the experience of bodily movement in defiance of gravitational laws.
Witches in medieval Europe were frequently depicted flying up chimneys and in the air by means of broomsticks, various wild animals, or even during acts of sexual intercourse; however the consensus of modern Neo-Pagans[citation needed] is that these images remotely alluded to the practice of entheogen use, either for folk shamanic purposes surviving from the stone age, or perhaps even as a form of recreational drug use.
There is some pre-Christian evidence of transvection in Norse Shamanism that correlates with reports of flying and levitation in many early shamanic and mystical traditions around the globe.
Flying saints and Hindu and Buddhist mystical practitioners known as Siddhis and Iddhis are known for acts of spontaneous levitation, reported during times of intense or particular religious or meditative devotion. Though this is not to be confused with Indian street performers, famous for climbing ropes that go nowhere and other kinds of stage magic adapted to street performance.

Conventional gifts aside, there are a great many more abilities that have been defined and discovered, but are either less well-known, or are considered less plausible. However, some unique, mysterious gifts are really highly specialized forms of a more generalized ability that is more readily accepted.
For example, the gift of persuasion may in fact (in some instances) be an extended form of telepathy. In one such scenario, the telepath would not only be capable of reading minds, but also of inserting thoughts and motives in those minds, which are then accepted by the recipients and later acted upon in reality. So here, persuasion could tie in with telepathy, and yet also be considered a separate, distinct ability.
The beauty of this ability is that we all do it naturally, and with practice, we can learn to harness its awesome power.
Alpha Thinking is a technique that involves learning to reach a dreamlike state at will, while maintaining conscious direction over your thoughts. People who have mastered this report being able to remember things in far greater detail. Some go as far as to say they can remotely diagnose illnesses by "seeing" in their mind's eye affected regions of a friend or stranger's body. Others have claimed that use of Alpha Thinking allows them to spontaneously read minds. Another technique involves imagining a desired scenario and surrounding the situation (or a specific person) with white light. This may simply be a neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) method that helps convince them and them alone that what they wish will come true. But it might also be a sort of energy transmission. Someone once described a young man they had meditated on. The guy was having a rough time, emotionally, so the Alpha Thinker remotely imagined a change in behavior. The results were so striking that the Alpha Thinker vowed never to do anything like that again. The guy's behavior did change, but so thoroughly as to make that specific Alpha Thinking method seem ethically questionable.
Alpha Thinking Books
The Silva Mind Control Method is pretty nearly pure instruction. Jose Silva basically came up with his techniques decades ago and taught neighborhood kids how to use Alpha Thinking to improve their grades. One girl is said to have spontaneously read his mind after receiving the training. At one point he describes how falling asleep he saw a brilliant glow surrounding some numbers. The next day he bought a lottery ticket and won $10,000, which he used to support his research and radio repair business.
The Power of Alpha Thinking: Miracle of the Mind is one guy's firsthand look at the former "craze" of meditation courses and training in Alpha Thinking. He starts out skeptical, then sees the power behind the systems. He does more research, and you follow along on his investigation. Then at the end I'm pretty sure there's a self-instruction guide. One entertaining part is when the author challenges a weightlifter at the beach to a contest to see who can hold weights with both their arms extended for the longest time. After the weightlifter goes and sets the time to beat, the author stands up, holds the weights in his arms, and then goes into his Alpha State. He was able to mentally disassociate from the strain, and ended up beating the younger, stronger guy.
Both of these books are a little old, but the information seems far from obsolete.
It's like telekinesis but it is with biological matter.
Can induce pain, or take it away, heal, etc.
This power can even be used to manipulate the genetic code inside an organism which can cause:
1. Ability granting
2. Ability Negating
3. Ability enhancing
4. Ability Weakening
5. Shapeshifting
Possibly:
1. Empathy
2. Super learning (at least with biology and genetics)
3. Seeing the past of a living thing
Biokinesis operates in many forms,
some forms you are able to control organic matter directly: healing manipulating forms ect.
other forms only allow you to control organic matter like making an animal move against it's will.
while others are more indirect such as being able to understand anything organic and possibly being able to make them understand something.
Biokinesis can be very dangerous and you might actually be able to kill someone very easily with this power or alter someones very identity.
all with Biokinesis be careful.
Chlorokinesis is the ability to encourage photosynthesis in plant life via mental influence. This power can manifest in several ways, from accelerating the growth of plant life to animating botanical matter.
Chronokinesis is the ability to control the passage of time. Not travel through time, but to slow it down, speed it up, stop and start it. It is a rare ability and few people have it. Chronokinesis is upon one of the easiest powers to control and use, making it very effective.
Chronotelekinesis is the ability to move youself, others and objects through time.
death feeling a way to know when certain people die generally you have to know them be related to them closely by blood or hav to be within a certain distance from you
the ability to sense the well being of your surroundings. Sometimes allows you to notice when something changes, no matter how small. Some who have this ability are capable of getting energy from nature. Creates a bond with animals and other living organisms.
A person that can alter another's 5 (or 6) senses so that they would experience what the user has desired. No known results for breaking away from illusions. +Information: Illusionism is slightly related to Biokinesis and Telepathy, due to the fact that the Illusionist could reach into another's mind and project it by messing with their 5 senses. Illusionism is a difficult ability to handle, and is a very rare to come by.
Invisibility is a form of matter manipulation. In general it's bending the light around you to become invisible to the naked eye.
The definition of Manipulation is,"Shrewd or devious managment, especially for one's own advantage." The more common definition, the control of a certain field. Sometimes when refering to the manipulation of abnormal abilities, usually the root word of the controly would be fused before the word "Kinesis", which is the movement of an organism in response to a stimulus, as light. There are an innumerable varities of Manipulations, and just to state a few common ones, there's: Pyrokinesis, Cyrokinesis, Telekinesis, Astrokinesis, Umbrakinesis, etc.
Conscious Persuasion
This is the ability to force others to obey one's spoken imperatives.
Conscious persuasion requires speech or a vocal command, and it is necessary for the affected individual to understand the spoken commands and be able to act on them. However, conscious persuasion does not always compel instant obedience, and commands may have to be repeated several times before they take effect. This specific wording of the imperative also has a significant impact upon the success rate. For the majority of the time, concentration is needed for this ability to activate, although a high danger risk may trigger this ability without concentration.
Subconcious Persuasion
This is the ability to manipulate the actions of others without necessarily being aware of it.
Unlike conscious persuasion, subconscious persuasion does not require a vocal trigger. In most cases, it is merely the thought of wanting someone to do something that causes them to act upon it. However, it also may just be the presence of the individual with this power that causes others to act upon their will, without the individual wanting them to.
Teleportation. We've all heard, seen, and read of this amazing subject. The ability to transfer your body, mind, and spirit to a location you've chosen. But what examples in real life do we have?
The closest thing to teleportation that i've witness or heard of are; astral projection, precognition, and telepathy. These abilities don't seem to in common, but whats to say all of these abilities that we've heard of aren't linked to the human mind.
The properties of teleportation are becoming more and more explored as many scientists are experimenting in labs. On the human level, we are no closer than we were 20 years ago *atleast from my research*. But the subject is still left open for debate.
I believe to fully harness this ability one has to become aware of his abilities in the areas of astral projection, and telekinesis. Why you ask? With astral projection; the human mind is already using this ability. And telekinesis; the human mind is becoming more aware of its position in the universe and is manipulating it to such an extent that its able to move the world around it. With these abilities coupled, whose to say that teleportation wouldn't be simple.
I believe teleportation is one step closer to time travel. The space-time continium is being bent at such a rate that your body is moving before space/time itself can keep up. When we learn more about the properties of space and time, i believe we will all be able to harness this ability by simply practicing it.
Umbrakinesis is the ability to control all forms of darkness. Most known Umbrakinetics can create darkness out of nowhere, possibly by manipulating photons (the particles that make up light) until only darkness remains. However, other theories have stated that the darkness used by umbrakinetics are actually solid in nature, so the origins of umbrakinetic darkness is unknown. Umbrakinetics have also been known to blend in with shadows, teleport through shadows, and create weapons and constructs from darkness. There is a chance that umbrakinetic darkness is made out of dark matter.
Throughout history, many incredible events have occurred, and many have been recorded. Some of these events highlight extraordinary abilities possessed by one or more individuals. Despite the detailed records in some cases, many historical accounts of super powers are still open to interpretation. That is, super powers are not the only explanation. For example, one possible explanation for the phenomenon behind Spring Heeled Jack is mass hysteria. But just because something goes unproven doesn't mean it didn't happen.
Supposed super powers mentioned in history:
Historical figures that could be associated with superpowers:
Since 1837, Spring Heeled Jack has existed as a character of English folklore. This individual could supposedly jump extremely high, and was sighted all over England, usually in suburban areas. The stories of the odd-looking fellow who could leap impossibly high into the air became the stuff of urban legends, and spawned various works of fiction.
Among the details cited in various descriptions are:
The most recent sighting of Jack was in 1986.
Here is a picture from a Penny Dreadful, a fictional serial publication for British teens in the 1800's:

Have you ever had a dream in which you had super powers? Maybe you could fly, or run really fast. Maybe you had a dream where you were super strong, or invincible. If you've ever had a dream like that, then you know that having super powers in dreams is an incredible and exhilarating experience. When you wake up and find out that you no longer have super powers, it can be a devastating loss. I'm going to share a special way you can at least look forward to regaining your powers in future dreams.
Before we learn the technique to give ourselves dream powers, let's look at nightmares. Have you ever had a dream where a monster was chasing you, and you wanted to get away, but you couldn't move? Maybe you tried to run as fast as you could, but when you looked down, you could see that your legs were barely budging. Many of us have had dreams in which we feel powerless, and completely incapable of saving the day (or night).
How are nightmares different from super power dreams? Here's an easy difference. In a super dream, you feel powerful. In a nightmare, you feel scared and helpless. I've realized that when I'm awake during the day, my attitude and feelings will usually have an impact on the content of my dreams. If I get stressed out by some huge, looming problem, and can't resolve it before bed, my dreams will usually reflect that, and I'll feel powerless. However, when things are going great during the day, and I feel on top of the world, capable of anything, that's when super powers can kick in during dreams. I also learned that even when nightmares strike, if I maintain a certain mindset in the dream, I can usually prevent the feeling of being helpless and stuck in the mud.
So here's my special technique for gaining super powers when you're dreaming. You have to learn to feel as powerful as possible. In the dream world, anything really is possible, so it's easy to believe that you're omnipotent when dreaming. After all, a dream is basically just a personal simulation, designed by you, for you. You're in control. It's like playing a video game that you can reprogram at will. All you have to do is believe in yourself and your ability to do whatever you want. I used to do this only after recognizing that I was dreaming, but in some later dreams, I could skip the, "This is a dream," step and immediately jump to, "I can fly!"
This technique also comes in handy when times are rough and your dreams reflect the difficulty of your immediate waking moments. In the middle of a nightmare, when you are being pursued or weighed down by bad things, all you have to do is believe in yourself, and feel that same aura of pure power envelop your entire being and emanate outward. When you do this, your opposition in the nightmare will be lessened from all-powerful to a simpler, easier challenge. In some bad dreams, this technique has allowed me to at least battle without giving up, until I finally wake up, knowing I never surrendered. It's an incredible feeling not to be dominated by a bad dream. In other bad dreams, the technique allowed me to turn the nightmare into a fantastic adventure.
There's also another simple trick you can use to give yourself more powerful and upbeat dreams. When you're in bed, ready to fall asleep, what do you think about? I've found that thinking about how bad things are can give me bad dreams. At one point, I had gotten so used to dwelling on the negative aspects of situations that it had become a solid mental habit. I caught myself one night and realized most of my thoughts were unpleasant. Some were like, "That's no good. I don't like that. How terrible." Maybe you've had similar thoughts before sleeping. Well, I knew that I could reframe my perceptions, and put a positive spin on things, even though my negative-thinking habit had already been established. It took some effort, but that night I forced myself to think positive thoughts. "That's no good -- wait, if I look at it this way, it's not so bad. In fact, it's good for these other reasons! And that other thing is great because..." As I drifted off to sleep, I felt more positive than usual, and had one of the brightest, most uplifting dreams of my life. I flew over sandy beaches and saw a glorious sunrise, golden clouds -- the works. It was all thanks to positive thought.
So to recap, here are the two techniques that you can use to give yourself super powers in dreams:
1. Recognize your unlimited potential to shape a dream, and feel infinite power flow out of you. You're in control. You're the master of your domain, the dream.
2. Think positive thoughts before bed and as you fall asleep.
These techniques are really just ways to empower your dreaming self (which will also spill over to help your waking self). Once you can do that, you should be able to manifest your favorite super powers with only a little practice. Good luck, and pleasant dreams!
There have been a variety of firsthand accounts of encounters with super powers throughout the years. The idea of being confronted with a real super power has held less importance than the facts of the specific incident, which was often categorized according to the individual process involved (telepathy, telekinesis, etc.), rather than as involving a super power.
Michael Crichton, well-known author of books such as Jurassic Park, graduated with top honors from Harvard College, and earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School. His writings on both fact and fiction have garnered widespread praise, and in the past he has received the Association of American Medical Writers Award. It can be gathered from this that his factual writings and firsthand accounts can be taken very seriously.
A non-fiction book by Crichton from 1988 called Travels contains his eyewitness account of telekinetic activity. The following passage is from pages 319 and 320 of Crichton's Travels:
Surely if it is possible that aliens exist, it is similary possible they can do extraordinary things, which we would consider as superpowers.
In this video, there appears to be proof that alien beings are not only among us, but they also possess vast intelligence and sophisticated technology. Who's to say they don't also have superpowers? Telepathy, clairvoyance, maybe even telekinesis...
Note: I did not make this video, nor have I provided the commentary. I just thought it was interesting enough to merit a viewing.
Maybe those transparent ships (?) use a cloaking system to bend light that could be adapted to the human body, giving a person the power of invisibility. It would then be possible for someone to vanish right before your eyes, like a ghost. Could it be that many of the major reported ghost sightings are really of beings existing on our physical plane, while making use of cloaking technology? Maybe they are normal people just goofing around with Merlin's magic coat!
Even if you have super powers, your dreams could still elude you if you're not focused on going after what you want in life. You don't need super powers to reshape your world into a better, more desirable reality. In order to get what you want, here are 9 simple steps you can follow:
1. Figure Out What You Want
Get a pen and some paper, or open a word processor, and take a few minutes to think about all the things you'd like to have and experience in your life. Write them down, in order of importance to you. These are your major goals in life. Don't worry, you can always come back later and rework them, or reprioritize.
2. Figure Out The Big Steps (Milestones)
Now that you know what you want, you can begin figuring out how to get it. Think about the best ways to go about doing that, on a large scale. If you want to own a global company, first you have to own a national one. Write down each of the big steps you come up with for your major goals.
3. Figure Out The Daily Steps
For every big step you've come up with, you must break each one down further and further, making a note of each level, until you reach a point at which you are dealing with daily steps toward accomplishing your big goals.
4. Organize Your Plans
Take each of your goals and write down the full breakdown in a simple and easy to understand way. Create a guide for yourself on paper with all the milestones, sub-milestones, and daily steps that each goal will need you to accomplish. You can put a check box next to each one, so that you can keep track of your progress.
5. Build The Daily Steps Into Your Routine
Just knowing your steps to success won't be enough. You've got to put them into practice.
6. Stay Motivated
Find as many reasons as you can to continue working toward your dreams. If you can stay motivated, the daily steps will seem like less of a chore, and soon become second nature. As the days go by, your continued progress will add up, bringing you closer and closer to your milestones, and to your major goals.
7. Keep Track Of Your Progress
For every milestone you achieve, no matter how small, keep a record of it. If you organized your steps to success as suggested in Step 4, you might have put them all into a book, with each step accompanied by a check box. Once you meet a goal, you can mark it as having been accomplished.
8. Reevaluate Your Goals
Either every year, or every month, or every week if you want, take the time to look at the progress you've made and decide if you want to continue toward your original goal, or modify it based on new information. Sometimes, once you've started working toward something, other things become clear and have an impact on your final plan. In order to prevent a scenario in which you finally achieve your original goals, but realize they no longer matter, it's important to reevaluate those goals every so often.
9. Keep Up The Good Work
If your goals have changed, go back to Step 1 and write them down, and then go through the other steps to set your new plan in motion. If your goals are as solid as ever, that's great. Keep up the good work, and your dreams will happen sooner than you think!
Let's say you have the super power (or technological capability) to travel through time. How would you use it? Some might prefer to go back and kill Hitler, save Lincoln and JFK, and meet Jesus. But what if your goals were purely financial? How would you use time travel to get rich?
Going Back One Day Only
You take a vacation for one day, buying things with only cash. The next day you come back and live your life normally, with a few minor adjustments. You study the stock market to find out which stocks shifted the most in the past 24 hours, and study sporting events to find out who won yesterday's games. Then you go back in time one day and shift all your savings and stocks into the winners (both stocks and teams) you studied up on. Bam -- instant wealth.
Going Back One Week
Take a week-long vacation, bringing cash. Do the same thing as before, except find the major stock fluxes from Monday through Friday, and find out which sports winners had the highest odds to begin with. Then go back one week and pour all your money into the places you now know will count.
Going Back One Year
Make a report of all your studies and hand it to your previous self. Then grin as you vanish.
Going Back 10 Years
Tell your previous self how to avoid the Dot Com Crash and what companies to invest in.
Going Back 100 Years
Start a new life in 1907 and set up shop with advanced future technology. Stock market prices will likely become unreliable in the event of your changing the entire world market with ideas from another century, so don't worry about remembering who will be hot and who won't be. Future tech will set you up nicely, as it might have Tesla. Sure, you'll cause widespread and dramatic ripples through time, but you'll end up becoming the world's first Trillionaire. Be sure and introduce your great-grandparents to each other.
During the afternoon of Thursday, May 18, 1995, Karl Sharrock of Lamar, Colorado was driving girlfriend Tony Taylor of Ulysses, Kansas and their 1-year-old daughter, Carrolyn Taylor along Colorado 101, a mile south of Las Animas, Colorado in a 1976 Chevy Chevette hatchback. No one was wearing seat belts, the baby wasn't strapped into a seat as stipulated by law, and Sharrock, then 32, may or may not have had alcohol in his system.
At some point, the hatchback left the road and hit a culvert and tree, throwing the baby from the vehicle into a muddy area next to an irrigation ditch. The car then spun closer and closer toward the infant, finally coming to rest on top of her, pinning her to the ground, and trapping most of her body. The rest of the car sank firmly into the mud. Someone called the police.
The first officer to arrive on scene, Deputy Mario Magdaleno of the Bent County Sheriff's Department would later remember his first sensation as being the sound of a baby girl crying. His heart dropped when the father hurriedly told him to get a jack out of the police car because his daughter was trapped under the wreck.
Magdaleno quickly tried the jack, but had little luck getting it between the car and the mud. The car had sunk in so deeply, there was no space for the jack to fit. No one else was there to help, as a passing train blocked the newly-arriving officers from the scene. Time was a factor.
Without giving it a second thought, the officer advised the mother, then 27, to pull her baby to safety as soon as he moved the car. Then, bending down and leaning into the vehicle, he picked it up off of the little girl.
Asked later what had been going through his head, Magdaleno said he had two daughters of his own, 11 and 13. "My mind was on that girl crying and trying to get her out. I thank the guy upstairs for helping me," he responded.
Free at last, the baby and her parents went to the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center in La Junta, Colorado for observation and treatment. The little girl ended up with potential head injuries and a broken leg. The father had broken several ribs, and spent a night in observation at the hospital with his daughter. The mother had suffered a broken finger, and was free to leave without staying the night.
A short time after lifting the car, Deputy Magdaleno noticed some pain in his upper back. He then went to the emergency room, where he learned he had hurt a few muscles, but that the damage wasn't serious. The mother of the girl he helped tracked him down at the hospital, and asked how he was doing. Then she thanked him for saving her baby.
Dreams have held a great significance for humans for thousands of years. In some cultures, it is believed that in order to succeed in the waking world, one must never lose control in a dream. In other cultures, it is taught that if your friend helps you overcome some obstacle in a dream, you should thank them in later, when awake.
There have been many different theories regarding the meaning behind dreams:
Jung was set on the idea that we and we alone are capable of judging the true meaning behind a dream symbol. If our dream focuses on an object, say a large tree, then it is important we understand what that tree means to us, rather than finding out what it means to someone else. After all, the symbols in our dreams are our own.
Jung decided that dreams are not puzzles to be solved, but rather are simply unique in that they have their own language and logic, the same language and logic of the unconscious mind.
According to Jung, the following things can be found in dreams:
In Seems Like Telepathy I mentioned Derren Brown. Here is a video of him demonstrating a little of what can be accomplished when you've got a photographic memory. He uses a technique called photo reading.
Unfortunately, according to him, one cannot learn to achieve the same results, even though there are courses and seminars on photo reading.
This quote is from an interview featured in the Genii magazine issue from February 2005:
"Because I was just a bit disturbed by, for example, the amount of people that got in touch saying they want to go on photo reading courses after seeing the photo reading piece that I did. And I was having to e-mail these people, through my management, saying that I was kind of using some of that, but there's no way to learn photo-reading so that you'll be able to duplicate that thing. I'm also using all sorts of other techniques to nudge things in my favor, and blah, blah, blah. "
Too bad, but maybe it can be learned, somehow...someday...
Quick! What was the seventeenth word in the quoted selection? Don't look! Don't look!!
On "Mind Control with Derren Brown," our host tells us he uses suggestion, misdirection, psychology, and showmanship to achieve his amazing feats. In a recent episode, he went to a professional psychologist, and turned the tables on him. With the psychologist lying on the couch, Mr. Brown sat in a chair behind him. They were going to play a form of word association, with a modern twist -- word disassociation. Mr. Brown would say a word, and the psychologist would say the first thing that popped into his head that felt not connected in any way with Mr. Brown's word.
Mr. Brown then proceeded to first write on a big pad of paper random words, and after each word, he'd say a completely different word. The psychologist, reaching out into the mental ether, came up with even more random words for the first three tries. After that, he began repeating the word Mr. Brown had written. So as an example, Mr. Brown writes "dog," says, "umbrella," and the psychologist, eyes shut, thinking of something not related with an umbrella, says, "dog." This went on for a few words, and then the game was over.
I realized that I had had some personal success using a similar technique. When I was with a friend, I'd sometimes try to guess what they were going to say next. My guesses were not based on logic. Rather, I'd found it fun to toy with just saying something random, that popped into my head. My friend would say, "It looks like..." trying to figure out a certain number of something, and I'd think, "Eight," and with no evidence, say, "Eight." "It's closer to nine, actually," would come the reply.
I've found that often, more often than could be coincidental, my "guesses" were closer than you'd expect. I surprised a friend once by guessing the time it was when he wouldn't tell me. This leads me to believe that while you may have no evidence to use to solve a problem in your conscious mind, you may have it available in your subconscious mind, so when you think, "I'll just say something random," you allow that subconscious information to enter your conscious mind, without judgement or logic to preemptively negate it.
Another theory is that the information isn't in you at all, but is available in someone else's mind, or in the universe, or the collective consciousness, and when you are more open to seemingly random ideas, you are really more receptive to semi-accurate ideas from a random location.
So here's the simple technique again for experimenting with a technique that seems like telepathy. When a question arises for you, and you don't know the answer, just take a shot in the dark. Think random, and say whatever pops into your head.
If you like, you can find many opportunities to create you own question, so you have more opportunities to experiment. One simple way is to wait for a friend to pause, searching for what to say next, and then you say whatever comes to mind. The trick is to not think in steps, but rather feel free to skip steps. Skip logic altogether, and you may find upon subsequent analysis that the random "answer" you came up with holds up.
***Update: On another episode of "Derren Brown," it was made clear that we all have the capability of picking up unconscious clues from others. My guess would be that we use our normal senses to gather info on what the other person is doing (how they are sitting, tension in any number of muscles, subtle movement or sounds being made, etc.) Then, our subconscious translates all that as an overall feeling into an idea that can be very close to what the other person was thinking. We can then access that idea if we allow ourselves to be receptive to our own subconscious.
In this case, it's not ESP, but rather subtle cues and signals being passed from one person to another, while neither is fully (consciously) aware of it. So if you were to master the reading of these cues, and other elements of body language, you could seem telepathic, but be using a completely different, non-telepathic technique.
Still, I believe telepathy is possible, and that it will be even more tangible once we all get past this hurdle of misinterpreting subtle physical cues as psychic transference.

10. Use your telekinesis to pull the chair out from behind your teacher - every time he or she tries to sit down. Alternatively, do the same to a fellow student, visiting speaker, or, if you're really talented, everyone in the room.
9. Wait until your teacher plans a frog dissection. When the day comes, and the only thing on the agenda is frogs, clear everyone's schedule. Freeze all the frogs with your icy breath, and watch chaos ensue as the teacher slowly realizes what's happened, and haphazardly tries to fill the rest of the day on the spot. Don't be alarmed if you find yourself suddenly solving word puzzles or watching "Cool Runnings" as the instructor tries to figure out how the frogs got frozen. Mission accomplished!
8. Telepathically link with the smartest kids in the class and blurt out their answers whenever they raise their hands. Alternatively, read their minds during a test. If you'd rather not be found out, be sure to vary your responses a bit so as to avoid suspicion.
7. Turn invisible and bring the classroom skeleton back to life, puppet style. Bonus points if anybody runs out screaming. Super extra bonus points if done on Halloween!
6. Just before class starts, use your telekinesis to loosen all the screws on each chair. Keep everything stable until everyone's settled in, and then let the butts hit the floor. Help speed along the rebuilding process by telekinetically replacing the screws, and then repeat the trickery ad nauseam.
5. Melt all the shoes to the floor with your heat vision. Don't breathe the fumes!
4. Manipulate the classroom weather to create a subtle wind that gathers up all the dust in the room into fist-sized balls. Yell, "Dust ball fight!" and pelt everyone repeatedly. Each of them will be too stunned to realize no one else is participating, especially if you keep the air thick with fast-moving filth. But beware. Everyone will find out it was you when you stop. So don't stop!
3. Create an unseasonal shift in temperature with your thermal powers. When everybody's wearing shorts, make the room cold. When they've all started wearing long sleeves, do the opposite. If you're truly talented, keep it up until they catch on and come to class in layers. On that day, start off with warmth. Once everyone's removed a couple of articles of clothing, make it cold. As they put the layers back on, go warm again. Keep shifting the temperature just fast enough so that the only thing anyone has time to do is adjust their clothing. Gold star if they catch on and leave the room. Class dismissed!
2. When a boring film is being shown, create a massive electromagnetic pulse and black out the entire building. That'll teach ‘em that "Cool Runnings" has no place in school!
1. Link minds with everyone at the same time. Create a virtual fantasy in which school is cancelled forever and you all win the lottery. Everybody's dreams come true. Build the spectacle and ecstasy as high as you can. Once things have peaked, swiftly cut off the delusion, allowing everyone to wake up and discover it wasn't real. When they recognize the unfortunate nature of their actual situation, they'll boot you all the way to the superintendent. Special bonus points if done during an exam. Triple diamond bonus points if done on finals! Ultra cosmic bonus points for linking with everyone in the building during the SATs!!
Here's one final tip for making the best use of your super powers in class, or anywhere else. Remember the immortal words of Stretch Dude: "I must only use this power to annoy!"
1. Use your telekinises to lift up the teacher.
2. Read the teachers mind to get all the answers right.
3. With your fire powers, set the school on fire.
4. Use your ice powers to freeze the teacher.
5. Use you Telekinises to do your work like picking up the pencil, lifting up the teachers answer paper, etc.
6. Use your super speed to run in P.E.
7. Use your super strength to annoy/amaze people.
8. Use you super strength to do P.E.
9. Use chronokinesis to speed up or slow down boring lessons.
10. Put a thought into the teachers mind saying "LET THE KIDS DO WHATEVER THEY WANT"
11. Use your aerokinesis to expand the air in a sports ball, making it explode.
12. Give everyone who comes near you a static shock if you have electrokinesis.
13. If you can mentally manipulate, do almost anything!
Super people make super countries. Just as there was a nuclear arms race in the past, so too was there a race for super powers. One of those powers was the ability to astral project, which is also referred to as remote viewing. There was a Stargate Program in operation to that very end. This program had nothing to do with the "Stargate" movie or T.V. shows. Psychics were used to try to gather information on places and things without ever using direct contact. The program is now said to be shut down, the reason being that the results produced were too unreliable.
Despite the apparent failure of the Stargate Program, the simple fact it existed proves that the government wants you to get super powers. If you were a reliable telepath, or if you had some other extraordinary ability, you'd be very useful in a variety of situations. You'd become an important resource. If word spread about your talents, you just might find yourself being recruited for a job with the CIA.
So despite the fact that some people might shrug and say, "Super powers? Ain't gonna happen," the government is in your corner. Go get powers, and then report for duty at 08:00!
The Society for Psychical Research was founded in 1882 and has headquarters located in Marloes Road, London. Since its original founding, the SPR has branched out from the U.K. to France and the U.S. The SPR, the French Society for Psychical Research and the American Society for Psychical Research are collectively known as the International Society for Psychical Research.
The Society for Psychical Research is a nonprofit organization with the mission of understanding and researching psychic and paranormal events without bias.
|
Their main areas of investigation encompass: apparitions (visions, ghosts, astral projection, etc.), mediums (who attempt communication with the dead), mesmerism (hypnosis through animal magnetism), séances and the physical effects thereof, telepathy, and the respective histories of the aforementioned areas. |
Archived information is partially stored at the University of Cambridge. The Society publishes a variety of materials, including a magazine entitled, "Paranormal Review," a quarterly journal, and "Proceedings" at irregular intervals. The French and American branches also publish quarterly journals.
The SPR conducts frequent lectures and holds two study days and a conference each year.
The Stargate Program was an American government-sponsored ESP project that took place between 1972 and 1995. Part of the motivation for a psychic government program stemmed from a perceived race with the Russians, akin to an arms race or the Space Race.
Nina Kulagina, a Russian woman with apparent psychic abilities in the area of psychokinesis (among others), caused quite a stir during the Cold War. Footage of her manipulating objects without touching them created the feeling that the Russians had a head start on psychic research, so the U.S. began their own investigations into the psychic realm.
The main goal of the Stargate Program was to scientifically break down clairvoyance, which is the ability to know something without using the ordinary five senses of touch, taste, smell, hearing, and sight. The new approach toward clairvoyance was termed, "remote viewing."
An analysis of the progress that had been made was conducted in 1995, under Professor Jessica Utts, who concluded that individuals with remote viewing capabilities achieved 5-15% greater informational accuracy than would be possible through chance alone. However, reports generated using remote viewing often included a great deal of data that was of no use, and when viewings seemed on-target, they were often vague and unhelpful. Another analysis, under Professor Ray Hyman, showed that nothing useful was gathered using remote viewing. At that time, it was determined that the Stargate Program was no longer viable and would not continue.
In order to know what qualifies as a super power, first we must make ourselves aware of what is normal. Even the extraordinary achievements of a lifetime athlete can be considered "normal," in the context that those achievements are within the realm of modern human possibility. Hitting the upper limit of your potential is fantastic, and superb, but not a super ability. A super power outclasses similar abilities and dwarfs them by comparison.
What amazing things have been done by humans, but aren't considered super powers?

Zener Cards are used to test whether or not you have ESP. They can test your clairvoyance, precognition, and telepathy. These special cards were invented in the 1930's by a man named Karl Zener, a perceptual psychologist. He used the cards in experiments, which he conducted with J. B. Rhine, a parapsychologist.

You may recognize these cards from "Ghostbusters." At the very beginning of the movie, parapsychology professor Dr. Peter Venkman (Bill Murray) uses Zener Cards to test two university students. In a comedic turn, he infuriates the one candidate who apparently is more psychically gifted, forcing the student to leave Dr. Venkman alone with the other candidate, an attractive coed. So much for science!
The most important thing about a Zener Card Test is the ability it measures. In Ghostbusters, telepathy may have been the ability in question, because every card drawn was focused on by Dr. Venkman, and the two test subjects could have read his mind in order to make their guesses. Alternatively, they could have used clairvoyance to guess, without reading his mind at all. Had Dr. Venkman waited to draw a card until after each prediction had been made, the test would then have been measuring precognition.
Why not test your precognitive skills with our Zener Card Test? This version of the experiment will measure your ability to foresee the future, because the cards will be selected by the program only after you make your prediction. So you won't be reading the mind of a machine, or gathering information on the present. You'll be delving into the future. And don't worry, the program won't cheat.
